Nine LHS swimmers competed at the 2026 Canterbury Secondary Schools Swimming Championships at Parakiore on March 31 — marking a return to a 50m long course pool with heats and finals for the first time since the earthquakes.

Despite the change in format, the team stepped up with strong performances and several personal bests.

Ayden Brown – 2nd (14yrs 50m Breaststroke)

Jono Graham – 2nd (16–18yrs 50m Butterfly)

Evie Smith – 2nd (Open 100m Butterfly)

4th Jono Graham – Open 200m IM

Our team was supported by Mrs Knowles as team manager, our LHS officials Miriam and Phil (Amy's Parents) and Harrison James (2025 LHS leaver) and plenty of whanau supporters.
