NZSS Touch Tournament; December 2025
In December we went to our 16th national tournament with high hopes of doing well. Pool play went well (despite the scorching heat) with us winning all four of our five games to place 2nd in our pool and reach the top 16 group phase. In this, we won one of our three games, just missing out on the cup quarter-finals after a narrow loss to Thames High School 4-6. From that point we were playing to finish as high as possible in the play-off games that remained. We lost our quarter final in a drop-off 6-7 to Taieri College, bounced back with a win against Morrinsville College and then played Mt. Maunganui High School for 13th/14th place. This game was officially recorded as a draw after some off field controversary.
To finish 13th in New Zealand out of 43 schools was still a fantastic result and inspiration for 2026.
