
The 2024 Chinese Bridge Proficiency Competition was held on Sunday 26 May at the Central Lecture Theatres, University of Canterbury.

There were 40 primary, secondary and university students who participated in the competition. Niamh Gray (Year 12), and three (Year 9) junior students Eva-Grace Dunlop, Harley Bratton and Skye Whetter took part in the contest. Niamh was awarded second prize for her speech in the senior category, she also played a Chinese song with her clarinet. In the junior category, Skye and Harley achieved third prize for their speeches; Eva-Grace received a merit, and Eva-Grace also played “The Beauty and the Beast” with her keyboard. Our three junior girls danced beautifully in a Chinese music “There was a girl…” .
