The Culture Council recently held a very successful Whanau Fest and Unifree day, to celebrate the many cultures at Lincoln. Students enjoyed wearing clothes to reflect their cultures and eating delicious kai from different countries. As a result, $1260 was raised. The Culture Council decided to donate this to a local organisation: Christchurch Resettlement Services. This organisation does wonderful work supporting new refugees and migrants who come to CHCH. On Thursday 22 September, the students met with Mrs Denise Huisman from CRS and presented her with the ‘big cheque.’ Kai was shared and Denise told us more about their work. Well done to all students who took part, and in particular the Culture Council for their great mahi. The photo shows the co leaders of the council, Mihirangi Freeman and Asha Molloy making their presentation to Denise.
